Garruços

 "Garruço" é o nome que o meu avô dá a gorros. Adoro esta palavra. Soa mesmo bem. Soa "quentinho" e "aconchegado", mesmo como queremos os nossos gorros no inverno. E há tanto tempo que me queria aventurar a fazer os meus próprios gorros. Como vivo num país frio, uso-os muito no inverno, dão imenso jeito, não saio de casa sem um. 

Embora goste muito de gorros, normalmente nunca encontro um que assente mesmo bem na minha cabeça ou que goste mesmo do formato. Ou da cor. Ou da lã. Sim, sou complicada. Então, aproveitei as férias de Natal de 2020 para aprender a fazer gorros. Sabia o formato que queria. Queria gorros com "orelhinhas". Procurei um tutorial no youtube e pus mãos à obra. Um dos pontos de tricot já eu conhecia e aprendi um novo, o "canelado" na base dos gorros. O tutorial era super simples, nada complicado, e rapidamente acabei os dois gorros que vos mostro hoje. Adorei o processo e nunca mais compro um gorro. Estes que fiz são quentinhos, macios, e servem muito bem o propósito. Mesmo em dias de neve e gelo mantiveram-me bem quentinha.

Mas o crédito não é inteiramente meu. Tive alguma dificuldade na escolha das lãs. Porque a lã que escolhi inicialmente era demasiado fininha. Resolvi pedir conselhos à querida Angela, que me recomendou a marca portuguesa Rosarios 4. Para o gorro rosado escolhi a colecção Terra, na cor 16, e para o gorro verde escolhi a colecção Joshua, na cor 17. São lãs muito diferentes, com texturas diferentes, ambas muito quentinhas e com cores lindíssimas. 

Ficam as fotos em baixo. Mais uma ideia de algo que podem fazer vocês mesmos/mesmas, sem ter de comprar gorros caríssimos, e continuando a apoiar empresas nacionais. É um projecto simples, relativamente rápido de fazer e podem fazer das cores que vocês quiserem, para combinar com as vossas roupas ou casacos. Não há melhor.

"Garruço" is the name my grandfather gives to beanies. I love this word. It sounds really good. Sounds "warm" and "comfortable", just like we want our beanies to be. And for some time I really wanted to try to make my own beanies. Because I live in a cold country, I use them a lot during the winter, they are super handy, I don't leave the house without one.

And although I really like beanies, I usually never find one that really fits my head or that I like the shape. Or the color. Or the wool. Yes, I'm picky. So, while I enjoyed my Christmas holidays in 2020, I took time to learn how to make beanies. I knew the shape I wanted. I wanted beanies with "ears". I searched for a tutorial on youtube and I started working. One of the stitches I already knew but then I learned a new one, the alternate one on the base of the hat. The tutorial was simple, not complicated at all, and I quickly finished the two beanies I am showing you today. I loved the process and I will never again buy a beanie from a store. These are warm, soft, and really do the work! Even on days with snow and ice, they kept me warm. 

But the merit is not only mine. I had some difficulty in choosing the wool. Because the wool I had chosen initially was too thin. I decided to ask for Angela's advice, and she recommended the portuguese brand Rosarios 4. For the pink beanie I chose the wool from the collection Terra, in color 16, and for the green beanie I chose wool from the collection Joshua, in color 17. These wools are really different, with different textures, but are both super warm and have beautiful colors. 

You can find the photos below. This is another idea of something you can make by yourself, without having to buy super expensive beanies, and still supporting portuguese brands. It's a simples but quite quick project, and you can make beanies in the colors you like the most, so you can pair them with your favorite outfits or jackets. There's nothing better.
