Flores

 Depois de um Inverno fresquinho, com neve, com gelo, com cházinhos e mantinhas, eis que chega a Primavera! E os primeiros sinais já se sentem e já se vêem. Sentem-nas nos dias mais longos e nas temperaturas cada vez mais amenas e vêem-se nas florzinhas que vão brotando do chão e nas árvores, e nas abelhinhas que regressam aos jardins e quintais. Não há nada que me dê mais inspiração do que isto.

E há tempos alguém me deu um tecido super bonito com flores. Ficou guardado à espera que eu tivesse alguma ideia para o utilizar. Decidi fazer uma mala com bocados deste tecido, mesmo para celebrar a chegada da Primavera. Fiz uma combinação de bocados do tecido florido com bocados de umas calças de ganga azul-claras. O forro foi feito com bocados de uma camisa e o bolso interior foi feito com o próprio bolso da camisa, que decidi aproveitar.  As alças foram feitas com pressinta que tinha em casa e o botão é um dos que resgatei da gaveta de botões antigos da minha avó. 

Gosto imenos do resultado final. Uma mala leve, quer nos materiais, quer nas cores, com cores primaveris, com tons de verde e castanhos que combinam na perfeição com o azul da ganga e com as flores do padrão. Até teve direito a sessão fotográfica mais à "fresquinha"!

After a fresh winter, with snow, ice, tea and heave blankets, there comes Spring! And I can already see and feel the first signs. I feel the days getting longer and warmer and I see the flowers coming from the ground and opening in the trees, and bees coming back to gardens and backyards. There's nothing more inspiring than this.

And some time ago, someone gave me a super beautiful flowery fabric. I stored it, waiting for me to have an idea on what to do with it. I decided to make a handbag with pieces of that fabric, just to celebrate the coming of Spring. I combined this fabric with pieces of light-blue jeans. The inside was made with pieces of a shirt and the inside pocket was made with the pocket of the shirt itself. The handles were made with material I had at home and the button is one of those I rescued from the drawer where my grandmother kept the old buttons. 

I really like the final result. A light handbag, light in terms of materials used and in colors, with colors that remind Spring, with green and brown tones that go perfectly with the blue from the jeans and with the flower pattern of the fabric. I even made a more "fresh" photo session!
