Uma gravata por ano

 Pois é, desde que comecei o Écostura que tenho feito uma mala com gravatas por ano. Não é muito comum receber doações de gravatas. Mas quando recebo, nunca tenho ideias imediatas para elas e opto sempre por as guardar até que me dê vontade de pegar nelas e fazer alguma coisa. Este ano não será diferente e há poucos dias resolvi pegar nas poucas gravatas que tinha guardadas e fazer uma mala nova.

É engraçado observar que quando começo uma mala, tenho sempre uma ideia inicial daquilo que quero fazer. A maior parte das vezes, o resultado final sai sempre diferente, porque vou mudando de ideias e vou adaptando as costuras à medida que vou cosendo. É sempre uma surpresa, porque, mesmo com uma ideia, nunca sei como vai ser o resultado final! Neste caso, apenas sabia que queria fazer uma mala diferente das outras malas que fiz com gravatas. A ideia inicial que tinha daria uma malinha muito bonita, mas pouco prática, e por isso fui mudando o formato.

Saiu como podem ver nas fotos em baixo. Usei partes das gravatas que tinha, bocados de calças de cores e texturas diferentes, o forro foi feito com bocados de uma capa de edredon e incluí um bolso interno, as alças foram feitas com pressinta que tinha em casa, a base foi feita com um bocado de um tecido de algodão impermeável que tinha em casa e o botão veio, ou da gaveta dos botões antigos da minha avó, ou da loja em segunda mão onde comprei um monte de botões. Já não sei ao certo. Adoro as cores da mala e das alças, gosto imenso do feitio diferente que dei às alças, e adoro o toque do botão, que lhe dá um ar mais clássico. E atentem no pormenor das gravatas! Como já vos disse antes, eu ADORO gravatas, especialmente aquelas que têm bonequinhos ou padrões giros. Estas têm padrões lindos! E aquela gravat com bonequinhos a fazer ski? Linda, linda, linda.  

Adoro o resultado final. Sou suspeita, é verdade, mas gosto mesmo. O que acham? Comentem, partilhem e inspirem-se.

So, since I started Écostura, I've made one handbag with ties every year. It's not common to receive donations of ties. But, when I do receive them, I never have immediate ideas on what to make with them and I keep them until that will strikes. This year was not different and some days ago I decided to pick the ties up and make a new handbag.

It's funny to see that when I start a handbag, I always have an initial idea of what I want to do. Most of the times, the final result is different, because I keep changing my mind and keep adapting the sewing as I work. It's always a surprise, because, even with an initial idea, I never know what the final result will be! In this case, I only knew I wanted to make a different handbag from the other handbags made with ties. The initial idea was to make a pretty handbag, but it was not very practical, so I kept changing the format.

It came out as you will see in the photos below. I used parts of the ties I had, pieces of different color and shaped trousers, the inside was made with pieces of a duvet cover and I included an inside pocket, the handles were made with material I had at home, the foundation was made with a water proof cotton fabric I had at home, and the button came either form my grandmother's button drawer or from a second hand shop. At this point, I can't remember. I love the colors of the handbag and of the handles, I really like the shape I gave to the handles, and I love the final touch of the button, which I find very classic. And look at the patterns of the ties! As I mentioned in previous posts, I LOVE ties, especially those with funny and cute dolls and patterns. These have such beautiful patterns! Look at that one with little men skiing. Adorable!
