Da janela para o sofá

Todos já comprámos cortinados alguma vez na vida. Todos sabemos que nunca nos chegam às mãos com as medidas exactas das nossas janelas. E todos sabemos que temos de lhes fazer as baínhas. Foi o que os meus amigos fizeram. No final, sobrou-lhes tecido dos cortinados, e não o queriam pôr no lixo. Porque tecido nunca é lixo, seja roupa ou cortinado! Então, deram-me o tecido e pediram-me que lhes fizesse almofadas com ele. 

O tecido era super bonito. Um azul claro muito sereno. Desta vez, não pude comprar almofadas em segunda mão para aproveitar o enchimento para encher estas almofadas. Tive de comprar enchimento de poliéster. Nos tempos que correm, não dá para andar por aí na rua a escolher almofadas em segunda mão, e teriam de ser muitíssimo bem lavadas antes de usar o enchimento. Optei por não arriscar. Mas as almofadas ficaram muito giras! Adoro o resultado final. Os bocados de tecido deram para 4 almofadas, duas maiores e duas mais pequenas. 

Foram cortinado e viveram numa janela, agora são almofadas e vivem num sofá. Haverá transformação mais bonita que esta? Ficam as fotos e mais uma ideia do que podem fazer com restos de tecidos que tenham em casa.

We've all bought curtains somewhere in our lives. We all know that these never arrive with the exact measurements ready to fit our windows. And we all know that we eventually need to make the hems. That's what my friends did. In the end, they had leftover fabric and they didn't want to throw it away in the trash. Because fabric is never trash, being clothing or curtains! So, they gave it to me and asked me to make pillows with it.

The fabric was super pretty. A light, serene, blue. This time, I couldn't buy second hand pillows to use the filling to fill the new pillows. I had to buy polyester filling. In the current times we live in, I can't go around outside choosing second-hand pillows, and they would have to be washed very well before I could use them. I decided not to take the risk. But the pillows turned out beautifully! I love the final result. The pieces of fabric resulted in 4 pillows, two bigger ones and two smaller ones. 

From curtains living by a window, to pillows living on a couch. Is there a more beautiful transformation? I leave you with the photos and another idea of how you can use fabric you might have around the house.
