Anti-queimadura

Há uns anos atrás, fiz uma luva de cozinha com um vestido que era da minha mãe. Ainda hoje a usamos. É super útil. No entanto, precisávamos de mais duas pegas, para tirar travessas do forno e para levantar as tampas das panelas quando temos a comidinha ao lume. 

Decidi, finalmente, fazê-las  e hoje mostro-vos o resultado final. Foram feitas com bocados de duas camisas diferentes e bocados das mesmas calças bege. Podem parecer que têm cores diferentes nas fotos, mas isso deve-se à péssima luz que tinha à disposição. Para o enchimento, utilizei material de encher que tinha cá em casa. Um material fofinho feito de fibra artificial, mas que protege do calor o suficiente para não me queimar. Não estão perfeitas, mas eu acho que ficaram fantásticas! Adoro os padrões. E são super práticas, porque têm um espaço por trás para colocar a mão e impedir que a pega resvale enquanto levantamos algo quente. 

Não há muito a dizer sobre elas, a não ser que adorei fazê-las. E sabe tão bem não ter de comprar coisas que precisamos cá para casa. Basta arregaçar as mangas, dar largas à imaginação e deixar as mãos trabalhar. Ficam as fotos.

A few years ago, I made a kitchen glove with parts of a dress that was my mother's. We still use it. It's super useful. However, we needed two more of. It didn't have to be glove-shaped. It needed to be useful for when we take plates out of the oven or for when we lift lids when the pans are over the stove while we prepare meals.

I finally decided to make them and I am showing you the final result today. They were made with pieces of two different shirts and pieces of the same beige trousers. These parts may seem of a different color, but they are not. It's because of the awful light I had available. For the inside, I used a material I had at home. Bits of a fluffy material made of artificial fibers that is good enough to prevent the hand from feeling the heat. They are not perfect, but I think they look great! I love the patterns. And they are super practical, because on the back they have a pocket to put our hands in, avoiding the glove to slip from our hand while we hold hot plates.

There's not much to say about them, except that I loved making them. And it feels so good to not have to buy new stuff for our home. We just need to role our sleeves, release our imagination and let our hands do what they do best. Here are the photos.
