Tatuagem

Há muitos anos, a minha avó decidiu fazer uma colcha. Para tal, arranjou bocados de tecido em cada bocado coseu uma mão. Depois, "tatuou" cada uma das mãos. Todas diferentes, todas lindíssimas. Na verdade, acho que lhe disse que queria ficar com a colcha e ela a guardou para quando eu conseguir trazê-la para minha casa. 

Ora, destas mãos, sobrou uma. que ela guardou com muito carinho. Passados alguns anos, eu comecei o projeto do Écostura e ela deu-me esta mão e disse para eu aplicar numa mala que eu fizesse. Mas a mão era tão linda e tinha tanto detalhe, que eu não consegui pensar num modelo de mala que fizesse justiça suficiente. Até hoje. Assim que o ano novo começou, comecei a magicar um modelo de mala ligeiramente diferente. Só para aquela mão. 

E hoje mostro-vos o resultado final. Foi feita com bocados de uma calças de ganga vermelho-vinho, o forro foi feito com bocados de um pólo amarelo e as alças foram feitas com a cintura das mesmas calças. Deixei a alça pouco trabalhada, meio que bruta. O fecho é completamente diferente do resto das malas que já fiz até hoje. Não tem fecho de correr. Tem uma aba que se fecha com velcros. Tudo feito com bocadinhos das mesmas calças. E o velcro tinha em casa. Tudo construído em redor da mão. Que fica tão bem acompanhada das outras cores e tão bem enquadrada aqui. Quanto à mão, cosi-a também de forma diferente, com um ponto diferente, mais simples, que serve de moldura à mão. O resultado final? ADORO. Queria ficar com ela para mim.

Many years ago, my grandmother decided to make a quilt. For that, she picked up some pieces of fabric and to each of them she sewed a hand. Afterwards, she made a "tatoo" in each had. All of them different, all of them beautiful. In fact, I believe I said I wanted to keep the quilt for myself and she kept it in her house until I move to my own house.

So, from these hands, there was one left, that she kept with love. After a few years, I began Écostura and she gave me that hand and said I could apply it in one of my handbags. But it was so beautiful and it had so many details, I couldn't make a model pretty enough for that hand. Until today. Ever since the new year started, I began thinking about a handbag model slightly different. Just for that hand. 

And I am showing you the final result today. It was made with pieces of dark-red jeans, the inside was made with a yellow blouse and the handle was made out of the waist of the jeans. I left the handle very rough, which I think it works very well. The closing system is completely different from what I've made so far. It doesn't have a zipper. It has a flap that closes with velcro. All of this was made with pieces of the same jeans. And the velcro I had it at home. All built around that hand. Which is in such good company among the other colors and well framed. As for the hand, I sewed it in a different way as well. with a different stitch, more simple, which serves as a frame to the it. The final result? I LOVE it. I wanted to keep it for myself.
