Sombra e verdura

Este ano de 2020 começou logo com uma encomenda. No início, há todo um processo: escolher tecidos, formatos da peça, tamanhos, detalhes... Desta vez, pediram-me que fizesse um saco (tipo tote bag, sem fecho) especificamente com bombazina preta e com forro às flores. 

Arranjei então umas calças de bombazina preta, bem escuras. Utilizei parte delas para a parte exterior do saco. Para o interior, usei um tecido que tinha comprado no mercado local o ano passado e que estava a aguardar destino. Não podia haver melhor combinação! Quer dizer, todas as cores ficam bem com o preto. Para fazer contraste. Mas, este tecido era tão bonito para o forro! Cheio de folhas verdinhas em fundo branco-sujo. Com tecido que sobrou das calças, fiz dois bolsos por dentro, bem largos e adicionei umas alças feitas com bocados de um tecido de algodão impermeável que ainda tinha em casa. 

Há tantos contrastes neste saco! E ficam tão bem. Contrastes de cor e de textura, porque a bombazina tem aquelas risquinhas super confortáveis e mimosas e o tecido das alças é liso e mais rijo. Um jogo de sombras e verdura... Ficam aqui as fotografias do resultado final.

This year started with a request. In the beginning, there's this process: selecting the fabric, shapes, sizes, details... This time, someone asked me to make a tote bag (with no zipper), specifically with black corduroy trousers and an inside fabric with flowers.

I managed to find black corduroy trousers, really dark ones. I used pieces of them for the outside part of the bag. For the inside, I used a fabric I bought in the local market last year and that was waiting to be applied in a handbag. There couldn't be a better match! I mean, all colors go well with black. Making that contrast. But, this fabric was really pretty to make this inside fabric! Full of green leaves in a dirty-white background. With smaller parts from the corduroy trousers I made two large pockets inside and I added the handles, made with waterproof cotton fabric that I had at home.

There are so many contrasts in this tote bag! And they all go so well together. Contrasts of color and texture, because the corduroy has these smooth, cute stripes, and the fabric for the handles is tough and flat. A game of shadows and green... Here are the photos of the final result.
