É Natal, é Natal tralalalala

Pois é, o ano passou a correr e o Natal está quase aí. É verdade que o Inverno ainda não chegou, ainda se sente o Outono nas árvores, nas folhas e no ar. Mas já se fazem alguns planos para a época natalícia, especialmente aqui no Écostura. 

De vez em quando, deixo as malas de lado e faço outras peças. No entanto, este desvio depende muitas vezes das encomendas que as pessoas fazem. Desta vez, pediram-me para fazer um calendário de advento. Nunca tinha feito nenhum. Apenas me disseram como queriam que ficasse no final. Ora, o que há para dizer sobre este calendário? Pois bem, não saiu exactamente como queríamos. Está meio tosco. Os números foram difíceis de recortar e, por isso, ficaram maiores do que o planeado. Mas gostamos dele na mesma. Foi feito com um bocado de um cortinado impermeável,  bocadinhos de tecidos e bocadinhos de calças de variadas cores e o rebordo foi feito com bocados de umas calças de ganga vermelhas. Os números foram feitos em feltro que tinha em casa. Depois comprei a madeira e fio para pendurar.

Foi realmente um desafio. Demorou bastante tempo e não foi nada fácil de fazer. E apesar de tudo, gosto imenso dele, acho-o cheio de personalidade e acho que vai fazer uma casa muito alegre este Natal. Talvez também faça um cá para casa! Quem sabe, se me der vontade. Por agora, ficam as fotos do resultado final.

So it is, the year has almost gone by and Christmas is just around the corner. Ok, winter is not yet here, one can still feel autumn on the trees, the leaves and the air. But, people are starting to make plans for Christmas, especially here at Écostura.

Every now and then, I put the handbags aside and make other types of items. However, this almost always depends on requests people make. This time, someone asked me to make an advent calendar. I had never made one. They only told me how they wanted it to be in the end. So, what's there to say about this advent calendar? Well, it didn't come out exactly how we wanted. It's clumsy. The numbers were diffilcult to cut and, thus, they came out bigger than what I expected. But we like it nonetheless. It was made with a piece of an old water proof curtain, pieces of fabric and pieces of different jeans. The outline was made with pieces of red jeans. The numbers were made with felt that I had at home. Then, I added the wooden piece and the string to hang the calendar. 

It was a real challenge. It took some time and it wasn't easy to make. But, I like it so much, I think it has so much personality and I think it will make a home very happy. Maybe I'll do one for my house as well! Who knows, if I feel like it. For now, here are the photos of the final result.
