Insectos para a vida

Há uma moda muito gira que já há uns tempos que anda por aí: os insectos. Há blusas e camisas com insectos, há malas com insectos, há sapatos com insectos… É como os cactos, estão por todo o lado! E eu adoro. E como vocês já devem ter reparado, aqui no Écostura há peças totalmente feitas apenas com material reutilizado, mas há outras com elementos novos. Porque às vezes a mãe ou a avó me oferecem tecidos no Natal (ou fora do Natal) e é difícil impedi-las de os comprarem, porque estamos longe umas das outras e eu não consigo pedir mais vezes para não comprarem tecidos. Depois também porque me ligam a dizer que há mercados de tecidos na cidade onde moro e eu que adoro padrões giros morro de tentação...

Tento ser o mais transparente convosco. Informo-vos sempre aqui no blog e quando compram peças de onde vêm os materiais. Por isso, hoje também vos digo que recentemente houve um mercado de tecidos na minha cidade e fui lá dar um passeio. Comprei alguns tecidos, confesso. Mas é tão pouco frequente comprar assim tecidos novos (em comparação com quando comecei este projecto) e os tecidos eram tão bonitos que olhem… comprei-os. Vou sempre usá-los em combinação com materiais reutilizados. E vou sempre informar-vos se são os novos ou os reutilizados que uso nas peças. Também me informei de que materiais são feitos os tecidos que comprei. 

No caso do tecido que vos mostro hoje, não consegui resistir. Foi feito para a mala que fiz. Passo a explicar. A mala de hoje foi feita com bocados de calças de ganga azul claro. Fiz o forro com este tecido de insectos, que achei espectacular e comprei no mercado dos tecidos. É feito de 80% algodão e 20% poliéster. Depois, enfeitei o exterior com um bolso feito metade com este tecido e outra metade feita com um bocado de uma camisa verde. As alças são pressinta coberta com tecido das mangas dessa mesma camisa. No final, adicionei a "cereja no topo do bolo": o botão. É um botão que a minha avó tinha por casa, abandonado, lindo de morrer (!!!) e que eu guardei durante imenso tempo, à espera do momento ideal para o usar. Por isso, quando digo que o tecido estava destinado para esta mala, é mesmo por causa do botão. Combinam tão bem!

There's a trend that has been going around for some time now: bugs. There are blouses and shirts with bugs, there are handbags with bugs, there are shoes with bugs... It's like the cactus, it's everywhere! And I love it. And as some of you might have noticed by now, here in Écostura there are items made exclusively with reused fabrics, but there are other items with some new fabrics incorporated. Because sometimes my mother or my grandmother give me fabric at Christmas (or out of Christmas season) and it's difficult to prevent them from buying them, because I leave far away from them and I cannot prevent them from buying things. Moreover, it's also due to the fact that sometimes people call me to tell me there will be a fabric market in my town and I, a person who loves cute patterns, die of temptation...

I try to be as transparent as I can with you, my readers. I inform always inform you, here in the blog posts and when you buy items, where the materials come from. So, today I am here also to tell you that recently there was a fabric market in my town and I went there for a walk to take a look. I confess, I bought some fabric. But it's so rare nowadays that I buy new fabric (in comparison to when I started this projecT) and the fabric was so pretty that... I bought it. I will always use these new fabrics in combination with used materials. And I will always inform you if the materials are new or reused. I also got information from the seller about the composition of the new fabrics.

The fabric I am showing you on today's post, I couldn't resist buying. It was made for this handbag. I'll explain. This handbag was made with pieces of light blue jeans. I made the inside with the new fabric, the bugs-fabric, that I thought was amazing and  I bought at the fabric market. It's made with 80% cotton and 20% polyester. Afterwards, I decorated the external part with a pocket made witht he new fabric and a piece of an old green shirt. The handles are "pressinta", covered with pieces of the slieves of the same green shirt. In the end, I added the "cherry on top of the cake": the golden button. It's a button my grandmother had at her place, abandoned, absolutely gorgeous (!!!) and that I kept for so long, waiting for the right moment to use it. Thus, when I say this fabric was meant for the handbag, it's because of the button. They match so well!
