Mala com franja

Quando estive com a família no Natal, a mala do meu primo chamou-me a atenção. Era simples, mas o feitio era engraçado. Imediatamente, comecei a pensar em combinações de tecidos que tinha em casa. Quando nos separámos disse-lhe "vou fazer uma mala parecida"... E foi o que fiz há uns dias atrás. Peguei numas calças de ganga azul-escuras e numa camisa com um padrão lindíssimo e comecei a trabalhar. O resultado final é o que vos venho mostrar hoje. 

Não só usei umas calças e uma camisa usadas, como usei um sistema de fecho completamente diferente dos que tenho feito até agora. Tinham-me dado estas "molas" há pouquíssimo tempo e achei que iam ficar muito giras nesta mala quadrada. A alça também é diferente de tudo que já fiz até hoje. É uma alça ajustável, mas só tem dois tamanhos possíveis. O mais comprido, que permite usar a mala cruzada ao peito, e o mais curto, que permite usar a mala ao ombro. Acho este sistema super divertido e fácil de ajustar! Tudo graças aos ganchinhos que coloquei em ambas as pontas da alça. De facto, dá para retirar as alças por completo. Quando se quer diminuir o tamanho desta, devemos passar um gancho por uma das argolas e prender na argola oposta… Será que percebem? Para finalizar, cosi a gola que a camisa tinha à aba da mala, que faz um enfeite muito bonito. Gosto imenso deste padrão, e o verde com o azul combinam na perfeição.

When I was with family during Christmas, my cousin's handbag called my attention. It was simple, but the shape was very nice. I immediately started thinking of possible fabric combinations with fabrics I had at home. When I parted from my cousin I said to him "I'm going to make a handbag similar to yours…" And that's what I did a few days ago. I picked up some dark-blue jeans and a shirt with this beautiful pattern and I started working. The final result is the one I am showing you today.

Not only I used used jeans and shirt, I also used a closing system diferente from the ones I've used so far. Someone gave me these "clips" from old backpacks and I thought they would be cute assets in this square handbag. The handle is also different from what I've been doing. It's an adjustable handle, but only with two possible sizes. The longest one, which allows the person to wear the handbag across the chest, and the shortest one, to allow the person to hang the handbag over the shoulder. I think this system is super fun and easy to adjust! All thanks to the little hooks I put on both sides of the handle. In fact, you may take off the entire handle. When you wish to shorten the size, you should pass one of the hooks through the circle and grab the opposite circle… I hope you guys understand how it works. To finish, I sewed the neck of the shirt to the flap of the handbag, which makes a gorgeous decoration. I like this pattern so much, and the green matches the blue in such perfection.
