Frida

Não sei se já repararam, mas a Frida Kahlo anda muito por aí: em malas, carteiras, porta-chaves… Enfim, uma panóplia de produtos. E o Écostura não podia ficar de fora nestas tendências! Recebi, por acaso, uma encomenda de uma amiga cuja irmã adora a Frida. E ela queria oferecer-lhe algo com a cara desta famosa pintora. Sugeri uma carteira/bolsinha para o dia-a-dia, onde pudesse guardar maquilhagem, lenços de papel, dinheiro… o que ela quisesse! Estudei bem a situação e lá fiz a carteirinha que vos venho mostrar hoje.

E estou super orgulhosa de mim. Acho que ficou um mimo, com as cores que eu mais gosto e que combinam tão bem entre si! Foi feita com bocados de calças de ganga pretas, um bocadinho de uma manga de uma camisola interior preta, restos de tecidos pequenos coloridos, e botões de roupa antiga. No final coloquei um adereço pequeno no fecho para tornar o cenário ainda mais colorido. Só tive de comprar um bocadinho de tecido bege para a cara da Frida. Sim, eu sei, ela era bem mais morena do que isto… Eu procurei, mas não encontrei nenhum tecido liso que correspondesse ao que queria. Este foi o melhorzinho. E pronto, esta é a minha interpretação da Frida. Adorei fazê-la, foi um desafio super interessante e muito divertido. E acaba por ser a minha homenagem a esta senhora, que gosto tanto. Acho que é uma prenda diferente e alegre para quem a receber.

I don't know if you've noticed, but Frida Kahlo is out there: on handbags, wallets, key-holders… A series of products. And Écostura couldn't be left behind on these trends! I received, by chance, an order from a friend whose sister loves Frida. She wanted to give her sister something with the face of this famous artist. I suggest a wallet for the day-to-day things, where she could keep her make-up, lipsticks, tissues, money… whatever she wants!I studied the situation and I made the wallet I am showing you today.

I am super proud of myself. I think the wallet is so cute, with the colours I like the most and which go together so well! It was made with pieces of black jeans, a piece of a black sweater, small leftover fabrics, and buttons from old shirts. In the end, I added a small adornment to the zipper to make everything more colorful. I only had to buy a piece of bege fabric for Frida's face. Yes, I know, Frida had a darker skin tone… I looked, but I couldn't find a fabric that would match what I wanted. This was the best I could find. And so, this is my interpretation of Frida. I loved to this item, it was a super interesting and fun challenge. And it's kind of like my homage to this lady, who I like so much. I think this is a quite diferente and cheerful present for someone to receive.
